English for Specific Purposes

The English for Specific Purposes Program (ESP), not to be confused with specialized English, is a branch of English language teaching that covers a wide range of fields such as Business English, Technical English, Scientific English, English for medical professionals, English for waiters, English for tourism, English for art purposes, and more. Aviation English, as part of ESP, is taught to pilots, air traffic controllers, and civil aviation cadets who use it for radio communication. ESP is specifically designed to meet the particular needs and objectives of learners in their respective fields.

Below are some ESP Programs available at LEIT:

General Business English

English is the language of international trade, making knowledge of Business English vital to individuals or companies who wish to communicate with others who use English as a shared language. Since much English communication that occurs between businesses internationally is between non-native speakers, it is important to be efficient and clear so that the goals of the respective businesses can be reached quickly and without misunderstanding. LEIT understands that General Business English is designed for learners who are starting from the beginning and need to build a strong foundation in English for professional use. This level focuses on essential communication skills for everyday workplace situations, including basic business vocabulary, simple email writing, introductory meetings, basic presentations, and fundamental workplace interactions. It is suitable for adults who are new to Business English or who wish to strengthen their confidence before moving to more advanced professional communication. For these reasons, LEIT’s General Business English Program provides a structured and supportive starting point for all adult learners.
