Business English

Learning Source: Oxford University Press

English is the language of international trade, making knowledge of Business English vital to individuals or companies who wish to communicate with others who use English as a shared language. Since much English communication that occurs between businesses internationally is between non-native speakers, it is important to be efficient and clear so that the goals of the respective businesses can be reached quickly and without misunderstanding.

LEIT understands that Business English means different things to different people. While some wish to focus on the vocabulary and topics that relate to the world of business, finance, trade, and international relations, others require the development of communication skills used in the workplace. This includes the language of correspondence, presentations, negotiations, meetings, report writing and socializing. Both variations of the course can be of use to native and non-native speakers, whether they are preparing to enter the job market or, already with success at the business level, wish to sharpen their skills. For these reasons, LEIT’s Business English Program is highly adaptable to meet the specific needs of the company or individual.
